Biochar
Biochar is created through a pyrolysis process, whereby biomass is thermally converted in the absence of oxygen into a stable carbon. Biochar resists decay and can sequester carbon for hundreds to thousands of years. The carbon in the biomass is prevented from returning to the atmosphere as CO2, making biochar a powerful agent in the fight against climate change. Biochar serves as an excellent habitat for beneficial microbes, nutrients and moisture, thus playing a crucial role in regenerative agriculture.
